Being an FTC team, we have many tasks that we must complete each season in order to prepare ourselves for competition. Here is a quick summary of what we do...
How We Build A Robot...
CAD: Before parts can be cut and assembled, the robot must first be planned. This is what CAD (Computer Aided Design) is for. We can assemble our robot entirely on the computer by utilizing programs such as solid works. Once this has been completed, the next step in building a robot is construction. Construction: In this step of the process, parts are cut, assembled, attached, and wired. Throughout construction various techniques and tools are used to assemble the hardware of a functioning robot. The idea is to follow the plans from our CAD as closely as possible. Programming: After assembling all of the hardware, we need to tell the robot what to do. This is what programming is for. Our robot is programmed in JAVA and we utilize a software called android studio. The code that we create is uploaded to the robot. Once this is completed, the robot is ready to compete. |
